Sosa, Williams Earn ABCA/Rawlings Southeast All-Region Honors

CORAL GABLES, Fla. – Miami’s Alex Sosa and Derek Williams earned ABCA/Rawlings Southeast All-Region honors, the American Baseball Coaches Association announced Wednesday.

Sosa was selected to the ABCA/Rawlings Southeast Region First Team at first base after powering the Hurricanes with a .338 batting average while adding a team-leading 18 home runs and 71 RBI. The junior started all 59 games for Miami and finished the season with 75 hits, 16 doubles, 63 runs scored and a 1.119 OPS.

Williams garnered ABCA/Rawlings Southeast Region Second Team recognition in the outfield following a great senior campaign. Williams paced Miami with a .376 batting average, 80 hits and 31 extra-base hits while driving in 69 runs. He also belted 16 home runs and posted a 1.141 OPS across 59 starts.

The duo combined for 34 home runs, 150 RBI, 155 hits and 67 extra-base hits while helping guide the Hurricanes to a 39-19 record and their 51st NCAA Tournament appearance.

First Team All-Region selections are eligible for ABCA/Rawlings All-America consideration. The 2026 ABCA/Rawlings NCAA Division I All-America teams will be announced on Friday, June 12, prior to the start of the NCAA Division I College World Series in Omaha, Nebraska.

The ABCA/Rawlings postseason awards schedule will continue with the announcement of the NCAA Division I Gold Glove finalists on Monday, June 15, via X by Rawlings Sporting Goods (@RawlingsSports), followed by the Gold Glove winners across all divisions on Wednesday, June 17. ABCA/Rawlings National Pitchers and Position Players of the Year in all divisions will be announced on Monday, June 22.

The ABCA All-America Team was first recognized in 1949 and now spans nine divisions: NCAA Divisions I, II and III, NAIA, NJCAA Divisions I, II and III, the Pacific Association Division and high school baseball. The ABCA/Rawlings Gold Glove teams were first introduced in 2007.
